Wide selection of bedding plants

Many garden centres and nurseries offer a very limited range of bedding plants. However our local customers (including garden designers and landscaping companies)based in Bishop Auckland, Newton Aycliffe, Darlington and Wynyard know us for our wide variety of exciting colours - we generally offer bulk buy options on nearly all bedding plants in trays as well as single pot larger options.

How to plant bedding plants:

We strongly advise that you use the right planting medium - a multi-purpose compost is fine however there are specialised composts and growing mediums available to help your new young plants put on a magnificent show. Do remember to keep young seedlings and bedding plants well watered in the early days as well as during hot spells.

Watering new bedding plants

Bedding plants grown in pots or hanging baskets do tend to dry out quickly so we suggest adding a layer of mulch or adding water-retaining supplement to the soil. Investing in our special compost for tubs and hanging baskets that contain the water-retaining structure is another option - it helps to keep them alive if you're away on holiday for a while too!

General tips

  • Many bedding plants do need regular dead-heading to encourage new buds, so do keep an eye on a daily basis and remove spent flowers as you see them.
  • Top up compost during the season to encourage new growth
  • Give each plant enough room to grow - if you plant them too close together, it may enough leggy growth as they fight for the light.
