Olive trees (Olea Europaea) are the epitome of both the Mediterranean and the Tuscan landscape. They add elegance and depth to any garden but have become the staple of most modern and contemporary gardens - ask any landscaper.
A wide selection of sizes and shapes of olive trees are available at Windlestone here in Durham as standards, in shrub form as well at intricate topiary forms - can be planted directly into the ground or can remain in a pot to be placed on a patio, terrace or as a feature within the garden. They are easy to maintain, frost-hardy and only require pruning once or twice a year in order to keep it in a desired shape. Olives are evergreen, with small white flowers in late spring and early summer and fruits will appear in mid-late summer if the weather is warm enough.
